My hair is no longer blended with rosé pink, but still has an attitude, I assure you. Also, I do in fact have two eyes!
Hi! I’m Karen, a 30-something single mother trying to make the most of this life, documenting the bumps in the road along the way. I believe in failing, and sometimes even flailing…it really does make you stronger.
This is a blog and personal/professional development site serving as a reminder that no one has it all figured out – and that’s okay. I will be documenting my journey in trying to get it together and have it all (mostly along the lines of career, fitness, motherhood and financial stability). I will also be sharing and reblogging other sites/posts that are telling stories or giving advice that I enjoyed, so please check them out, too.
This is thirty (something – but that doesn’t rhyme :)), flirty, and thriving meets real life.
I try to embrace my flaws and even revel in them at times, and hope you will do the same. Check out my original blog here to get to know me even better.
I have worked in a variety of industries over the span of my career, including digital media, fashion & apparel, wine & spirits, and most recently, beauty and pharmaceuticals.
With a deep-seated passion for the arts, I found my home in NJ/NYC based nonprofit ARTS By The People, which focuses on making the arts easily accessible to all. I formerly served on the Board and was the Managing Editor of the Platform Review, our printed literary journal. They are a wonderful organization – check them out and consider supporting their mission.
Last but not least, I am a writer before anything else (obviously). I contribute to The Muse, Career Contessa, Fairygodboss, ThriveGlobal, Elite Daily, and Thought Catalog, and have been featured in Business Insider, Fast Company, Inc., and Harvard Business Review for my career advice. I am available for hire for freelance writing projects – please contact me for rates.
